“For Enlite Cannabis’ owners — the Yee family, Peter Picknelly of Peter Pan Bus Lines and Holyoke businessman Mark Cutting — the event was a bittersweet affair. Andy Yee, father of Matt Yee, the dispensary’s chief operating officer, was a visionary behind the new business before dying from cancer in May at age 59.

“Andy saw firsthand the benefits that cannabis can have on cancer patients,” Picknelly said. “When Massachusetts legalized marijuana, Andy came to Mark and I and said, ‘Let’s get involved. But if we get involved, we want to do it right. We want to do it safely. We want to do it professionally, and we want to help as many people as we can.’””
